Wandering the World: White Sands National Park

Wandering the World: White Sands National Park

EPIC.  That is all I have to say about this place.  We ended up staying at a nearby state park that sits on the base of the mountain and is just incredible.  Ofcourse, no wifi.  I am starting to see this is a common thread.  We went to the white sands the night we arrived since it was cool and there were storms forecasted.  We LOVED it.  It was surreal.  Seriously.  One of my fav spots so far.  The kids had a blast exploring, a ton of fun playing in the sand and ofcourse, we had some beautiful scenery.  Yesterday we had a down day.  Tom and this kids hung around the camper and I worked in town (the laundrymat, Chilis, Coffee house, Sonic) to try and get caught up on work.

Today we hit the White Sands again.  It was amazing how different it was during the day.  We drove further in and it was TOTALLY WHITE.  Crazy.  The sun was high and strong and the sand was nearly blinding.  We let the kids sled down the bigger dunes, but they were so tired so quickly!  We also did our Junior Ranger Badges and they (shockingly) sat thru the entire movie at the visitor center.  They were enthralled!

I will admit that my least fav thing to do is clean sand out of EVERYTHING.  But it was totally worth the months of extra work that will come from it.  I would not pass this up if you are ever nearby.
