Wandering the World: Pinnacles National Park

Wandering the World: Pinnacles National Park

We were moving from Paicines to Morgan Hill and since it was such a short travel day, I decided to take the kids to explore Pinnacles National Park.  I knew nothing about it.  Other than it was hot outside.

We stopped into the ranger station and I asked her the best thing to do with 5 kids and a sprained ankle.  She sent us to hike Bear Gulch.

Upon arriving, I realized that it may be a little much for my ankle, but we were committed.

It was a HOT hike.  We literally made it half way which worked out to be 1.5 miles round trip and it was all hills.  UGH.

Even the kids were VERY hot and tired.  Maybe hiking in the middle of the day in the middle of the summer wasn't the best plan!  I would also like to point out that they got their junior ranger badges even though I was solo parenting that day!
